AAPA meets on the first Thursday of every month at a downtown Asheville restaurant. Meeting time is 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., with the exception of the meeting held during the last month of each quarter, and that meeting is from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The evening meeting once a quarter is to allow those members who are unable to attend meetings at lunch time, an opportunity to attend a meeting that is convenient for them.
Monthly meeting topics primarily relate to a substantive area of law. The Programs Committee attempts to schedule topics relative to a variety of practice areas. Topics related to life issues in general are occasionally covered for the benefit of members, for example, discussions about Self Defense and Stress Relief.
Any member who brings a guest to a meeting with them, shall attend the meeting free of charge, as will his or her guest.
CPE credit from the North Carolina State Bar Board of Paralegal Certification may be available for AAPA monthly meetings. If CPE credit is desired a member or attendee may submit a request for approval of credit to the Certification Board. A form to request CPE credit is available as a download below.
